#STAR_stories Meet Yoga Teacher, Andrea

With our yoga classes growing in popularity we are pleased to welcome Andrea to the STAR team and expand our yoga schedule!


Andrea will be teaching the lunchtime classes on Tuesdays and Fridays

(This means we now have lunchtime yoga 5 days per week!)

Welcome to the STAR team!

Where are you from and how long have you been practicing yoga?

I am originally from the Phillipines, I started practicing yoga in 2015 and teaching from 2018. I used to teach part-time for a couple of yoga studios in the area (Moon Yoga, Zenith Yoga, Om Factory) and Chung Dahm Kindergarten.


What is it that you love about yoga?

I started yoga with only 1 goal - to be able to touch my toes! After a few months of practice, I realized that it could do so much more for me. Yoga helps me manage my asthma and it helped some of my friends with depression. Over the years , I have witnessed many people improve their mobility and quality of life.

I also love yoga because it makes me soft and tough both at the same time. It has taught me how to let go of stress.


A non-yoga fact about yourself:

I don't like cooking. I only know how to cook 1 Filipino dish!


Andrea is a fully qualified yoga teacher with more than 5 years of teaching experience, her classes are taught in English, and she holds the following qualifications:

  • 300 hour Ashtanga - Vinyasa TTC Yoga Alliance Certificate from Bali Yoga Ashram

    • 200- hour Hatha Yoga TTC Alliance Certificate - Universal Yoga Center India

    • Kids Yoga Training - Yoga Alliance Yacep Certificate

    • Pilates Mat 1 Teacher Training at Body and Flow
